Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth Names Matt Hesketh, MBA, as New Chief Operating Officer

Matt Hesketh Appointed Chief Operating Officer at BID Plymouth

Plymouth, MA – Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth (BID Plymouth) has appointed Matt Hesketh, MBA, as the hospital’s new chief operating officer. Hesketh is an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 15 years of hospital leadership experience and will bring deep operational expertise to BID Plymouth.

“Matt brings extensive experience in hospital leadership, operations, quality, and strategic growth, and we are happy to welcome him to BID Plymouth,” said Jonathan Lind, president, BID Plymouth. “He has an engaging and thoughtful approach to leadership and will be responsible for leading, developing and executing key business strategies, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital.”

As chief operating officer, Hesketh’s primary focus will be to deliver an exceptional, patient-centered care experience and to drive safe, efficient, high-quality outcomes through a highly engaged team.

Most recently, Hesketh served as president of Boston Medical Center–South in Brockton, where he led the successful integration of Good Samaritan Medical Center into the Boston Medical Center Health System in 2024.

Previously, he served as president and chief executive officer of Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center. Earlier in his career at Good Samaritan, he held roles as chief operating officer and vice president of operations. He has also held leadership positions at Morton Hospital and Carney Hospital.

Hesketh earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
