Personalized care for your heart
Expert Care for Cardiac Conditions
Electrophysiology — or EP — studies the electric activity of the heart. Here at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth, our EP team is led by board certified Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologists. This team provides consults for a wide array of cardiac conditions.
You can access cardiac electrophysiology testing through our affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Our Team Offers:
- A full-time local board certified Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist for inpatient and outpatient consultation.
- Cardiac device implantation and management: Pacemakers, defibrillators, implantable loop recorders.
- Direct partnership with BIDMC Electrophysiology for advanced EP testing and procedures.
Cardiac Devices: Implantation and Management
We offer a variety of procedures and management options for Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs)
Primary implantation
- Pacemakers: single and dual chamber
- Implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs): single and dual chamber
- Implantable loop recorders
Device Removal/Replacements
- Pacemakers: single and dual chamber, biventricular
- Implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs): single and dual chamber, biventricular
- Implantable loop recorders
Device Management
In-person device interrogation and remote (internet/web-based) monitoring of all common makes and models of pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.
Advanced Electrophysiology Testing and Treatment
When additional EP services are necessary, we work in direct partnership with the Electrophysiology providers at BIDMC. You can access cardiac electrophysiology testing through our affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, including:
- Invasive electrophysiology testing
- Ablation procedures:
- Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)
- Atrial flutter
- Atrial fibrillation
- Atrial tachycardia
- Ventricular tachycardia
- Advanced device procedures:
- Leadless pacemakers
- Subcutaneous ICDs
- BiVentricular pacemaker/ICD implantation
- Pacemaker/ICD lead removal
