Infectious Disease Care at BID Plymouth

Whether you need emergency care or help with an ongoing infection caused by bacteria, a virus, or fungi, the infectious disease specialists at BID Plymouth provide the highest level of care and counseling to help you maintain and improve your overall health and well-being.

Routine Infectious Disease Care

Some infectious diseases require ongoing care. Our specialists can provide guidance on ways to manage or prevent infections to help you stay healthy. We also offer antibiotic management counseling and vaccinations if you are traveling out of the country.

HIV and AIDS Treatment and Care

Everyone should know their status; no matter their age, race, gender or lifestyle. Early diagnosis plus treatment can lead to a longer life and allows you to prevent transmission to others. At BID Plymouth, we we offer HIV “PrEP”- Pre-exposure prophylaxis, in addition to primary and specialty care and treatment of HIV, including:

  • HIV medication adherence
  • Routine labs and screenings
  • Immunizations
  • Free and anonymous HIV counseling and testing is also available through the ACCESS HIV/AIDS Program.

ACCESS HIV/AIDS Program

BID Plymouth’s ACCESS HIV/AIDS (AIDS Comprehensive Care, Education and Support Services) Program is supported by Ryan White HIV/AIDS funding received through the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC). Our goal is “to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.”

  • Referrals to specialty care, mental health counseling, and substance use treatment
  • Food assistance, SNAP coordination
