Employee Benefits at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth
As a health care organization, we are committed to the health and well-being of our patients, as well as our employees and their families. Whether you’re a full- or part-time employee, you may be eligible for these benefits:
Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth offers health maintenance organization (HMO) coverage through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC), a leading insurance provider in the area. In-network coverage is broad and, combined with a comprehensive plan, covers a full spectrum of health care services. Prescription drug coverage is provided by CVS Caremark. Retail (up to one month) supplies and mail order (up to three month) supplies are available. Premium payments are made by BID Plymouth with the employee contributing a portion on a pre-tax basis.
Dental coverage is available through Delta Dental of Massachusetts. Coverage includes preventative and diagnostic, basic restorative, major restorative and orthodontia services. Premium payments are made by BID Plymouth with the employee contributing a portion on a pre-tax basis.
The medical plan, HPHC, provides a basic vision benefit for participants. For those who want more comprehensive coverage, vision insurance is available through EyeMed. Coverage includes eye exam, allowances and discounts. Premiums are paid by employees on a pre-tax basis.
Additional life insurance coverage may be purchased for you, your spouse and children.
If you become disabled and unable to work, we offer these income protection benefits:
- Short-term disability covering up to 60% of weekly covered earnings.
- Long-term disability covering up to 60% of weekly covered earnings after short-term disability ends.
- Worker’s compensation covering work-related injury or illness.
These benefits allow you to save money on a pre-tax basis to pay for certain costs not covered by insurance. These include:
- Health Care FSA, which allows you to save up to $2,700 pre-tax annually for expenses related to health care.
- Dependent Care FSA, which allows you to save up to $5,000 pre-tax annually for dependent care expenses, including qualified child and elder care.
We know saving for retirement is important. That's why we offer a 403(b) retirement plan through Fidelity Investments to help you save for retirement with pre-tax dollars up to the annual maximum set by the Internal Revenue Services (IRS). We match 50 cents for each dollar up to 4% of your pay after one year of service and a minimum of 1,000 hours.
We also make a core contribution of 2% of your base compensation if you work 250 or more hours during the quarter. Match and core contributions are 100% vested when made (after one year of service and a minimum of 1,000 hours).
A lot of things demand your attention in both your personal and professional life. KGA, BID Plymouth’s EAP, is designed to help you and your family meet the challenges of these demands. We offer you, your dependents and any other household members confidential counseling and referral services at no cost.
If you're eligible, you'll accrue ET hours, which are used for PTO. ET hours are pro-rated for part-time employees. The ET accrual increases the longer you work for BID Plymouth. In addition to ET, you will also receive 10 paid holidays.
As an employee at BID Plymouth, you also receive these benefits:
- Accident and critical illness insurance
- Personal insurance lines (auto, home, renters, umbrella and others)
- Travel assistance
- Identity theft recovery service
