Spine Care
Community-Based Spine Care
As a community hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth is committed to providing spine care that centers the real needs of the people we serve. Our spine care program is designed to function as a trusted community resource — offering timely access, thoughtful evaluation and seamless coordination across providers so patients receive the right care at the right time, close to home.
Our Approach to Care
Back, neck, and spine‑related pain are among the most common reasons people seek medical care. At BID–Plymouth, our Spine Care & Orthopedic Spine Surgery Center is designed to meet this need with a coordinated, community‑based approach — ensuring timely access, expert evaluation, and treatment that is appropriate for each individual.
By aligning orthopedic spine surgeons, medical specialists, chiropractors and rehabilitation providers under a single care model, we reduce delays and support recovery at every stage. This collaborative approach helps patients return to activity sooner, supports primary care clinicians and strengthens the health of the entire community through high‑quality, efficient spine care.
Our goal is simple: to help patients recover safely, avoid unnecessary tests or procedures, and receive specialty care promptly when it is truly needed.
A Team‑Based Approach Built Around You
Spine pain is complex, and no two patients are alike. That’s why our program brings together a fully integrated team of spine care physicians, all working collaboratively within a shared care pathway. This team includes:
- Orthopedic Spine Surgeons: Primary spine providers (PSPs) providing comprehensive spine evaluation and treatment for patients who require operative spine care.
- Chiropractors: Specially trained chiropractors who serve the first point of contact for most spine concerns.
- Pain Management Specialists: Offering advanced, image‑guided treatments when pain does not respond to conservative care.
- Physical Therapists and Rehabilitation Specialists: Supporting recovery, strength, and long‑term function. Also function in the PSP role.
By working together in one coordinated system, our team ensures that patients are directed to the most appropriate provider from the very beginning, minimizing delays and unnecessary steps in care.
