SpaceOAR Treatment

In addition to extensive surgical and oncology treatment options, BID Plymouth offers SpaceOAR. Your care team may recommend SpaceOAR as part of radiation therapy treatment to minimize the risk of side effects.

SpaceOAR hydrogel is an option for men who get radiation treatment for prostate cancer. It provides space between the rectum and the prostate, making it much less likely that the rectum is exposed to radiation. This greatly decreases your chance of a reduction in quality of life from bowel, urinary and sexual side effects.

Testing for Recurrent Prostate Cancer

If you have suspected recurrent prostate cancer based on a rising prostate-specific antigen (PSA), we can help. We offer positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) imaging. Speak with your health care provider to see if these scans may be an option for you.
